All outdoor members,
In these very troubling times, your committee have made the following decisions:
Subscriptions will not be collected at the end of March / beginning of April.
Opening Day on 18th April has been cancelled.
We expect the green and club to remain closed until the end of June at the earliest.
There is a real possibility the club / green will remain closed for all of the outdoor season.
Management have agreed to the Bowls England directive for minimum maintenance of the green, so it is playable when we open.
All of this is disappointing, but it is done to save lives.
As the directives change, we will alter this timeframe.
These decisions are based on:
Government directive that people do not attend clubs, hence Management closing the club.
Over 70s and others to self-isolate at home for 12 weeks.
Bowls England and Bowls Surrey both confirming that all national and county competitions and representative games are cancelled for this season.
Bowls England and Bowls Surrey both cancelling any friendly “celebration” matches until the end of June, with an expectation that the rest of the season will be cancelled when it is reviewed in early June.
Other associations have also confirmed their leagues and competitions are cancelled for this outdoor season.
